Bash in Berlin 2024

World Wrestling Entertainment "Bash in Berlin 2024"

Venue: Uber Arena, Berlin, Germany

The WWE is again overseas, this time it’s Germany! Welcome CTA Passengers to our review for WWE’s Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event. We (Jey and Tikitaka) will give you our opinion about the first big Televised Wrestling Event from Germany with Gunther and Randy Orton in the Main Event. With that being said… LOS GEHT’S!

WWE Undisputed Championship Match

Cody Rhodes (C) defeated Kevin Owens via Pinfall (23:16)

Chris/Jey says: Watching this match, I thought this was a good opening contest. Many of us thought Kevin Owens was going to turn on The American Nightmare. It was an amazing match, as Kevin Owens was targeting the knee of Cody Rhodes. These two have done an amazing job building up this match as this was a test of their friendship. At one point Wade Barrett was edging Kevin Owens to unleash that killer instinct, but refused and wanted to win a clean and honorable win. At the end of the match Kevin Owens put out all the stops, but Cody Rhodes overcame the odds, put his knees up and hit Cross Rhodes. As we head into the fallout of the bash what happens to friendship between allies Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. It’s also a matter of time til Kevin Owens snaps on the WWE Champion as the question still remains. When will it happen?

Tiki says: Friends or Enemies… that’s the question in our opening contest of the Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event. Will Cody Rhodes lose one of his longest and best friends or can he retain the Friendship with Kevin Owens? Let's find out :) First of all, as this match was announced I was very happy, because I know what both Superstars can do in the Ring. Kevin Owens has proven over years that he is one of the best in the World and deserved the opportunity to have a World Title Match. It was an amazing match overall as expected both superstars did an amazing Job to entertain us and keep the suspense till the end of the Match. During the Match Cody Rhodes knee showed some signs of a storyline Injury that was mentioned by Kevin Owens the night before on Smackdown.. So Kevin had to make a choice, destroy their friendship and attack a weakened knee of the American Nightmare or for the first time in many years don’t turn heel and try to keep the match clean. Owens made the decision very quickly by not attacking the knee of Cody Rhodes and trying to win the match in a clean way. But the American Nightmare was not giving up and was able to defeat Kevin Owens after he stopped the Swanton Bomb by using his knees and hitting the Cross Rhodes.

But.. what about the Friendship between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens? After the match a lot of people expected a heel turn, especially when Kevin was hugging Cody Rhodes but Kevin Owens proved everyone wrong and showed that the friendship between him and Cody is worth way more for him than a Championship.

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeated The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) (C) via Pinfall (12:02) >>> TITLE CHANGE!

Chris/Jey says: The team of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargil finally gained redemption winning back the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. I didn’t expect Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn to lose the belts this early. The match was great overall and Jade Cargil continues to improve her in ring performance especially, since she came from the opposing wrestling Love the match itself as I didn’t expect Jade Cargil and Bianca Belair would click this well as tag team. I’m still waiting for the long awaited dream match between the two. Congrats to Bianca and Jade though, and thank Alba and Isla can’t wait for their next WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship run!

Tiki says: Bianca and Jade had the chance to win back the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship against The Unholy Union. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn did a great job being Champions and representing the Championships in the WWE so I didn’t expect a title change in this match. It was a great match between four great in-ring performers and two of the currently best Women’s Tag Teams in the WWE. Jade Cargill really improves every match and it’s a joy to watch her enjoying and embracing Professional  Wrestling. As mentioned before, I didn't expect a title change here because Alba and Isla did a great job but I was proven wrong because we have new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions! Congrats Bianca and Jade!

Strap Match

CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre via Stipulation by touching all 4 corners (19:15)

Chris/Jey says: We haven’t seen a strap since CM Punk defeated the late Umaga back in 2009. Many believed this to be the Main Event of Bash in Berlin. Drew McIntyre and CM Punk’s feud have become personal and one of the greatest storylines to date. Since Punk returned many thought his first feud back would be against Seth Rollins, but due to an injury in the Royal Rumble it didn’t happen. This feud with McIntyre is even about their real-life hatred for one another which makes this feud better. I also like how they used CM Punk’s bracelet as the root of the strap match. The match itself was incredible as both competitors went back and forth; tooth and nail against one another. There was a happy ending to it as CM Punk won via touching all four corners, he was finally able to get the beloved bracelet. CM Punk showed great athleticism during the match and was able to truly show why he was the best in the world.

Tiki says: many many fans expected this match to be the Main Event of the Bash in Berlin PLE. a strap match, we haven’t seen one in a long time so the expectations are very high here! Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have currently one of the best feuds in the World of Professional Wrestling, since Punk returned these two go back and forth and always find a new way to fight against each other. The Main reason is that Drew stole the Fanmade Bracelet that CM Punk got as a gift with the names of Larry and AJ Lee on it. It was a great match between these two as expected, the crowd had a lot of fun and was invested in the match. CM Punk showed great Cardio and no ring rust. In my opinion he did very well for his first singles match since his return to the WWE. Why do I mention this? Because a lot of people thought Punk isn’t able to have these kinds of matches again but remember one thing… class is permanent. CM Punk won the match via Stipulation by touching all four corners and was finally able to get his beloved bracelet back… at least for now…

Mixed Tag Team Match

The Terror Twins (Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest) defeated LivDom (Liv Morgan and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio) via Pinfall (14:20)

Chris/Jey says: This was a match a long time coming, as the Terror Twins Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest took on the team of “Dirty” Dominic Mysterio and Women’s World Heavyweight Champion Liv Morgan. Weeks building up to this match, the rest of The Judgment Day turned against the originals. With the numbers game in the favor of Liv Morgan and “Dirty” Dom Mysterio the Terror Twins were definitely in need of some. Many of us were awaiting the inclusion of Rhea Ripley’s On-Screen Love interest The “Yeet” Master himself “Main Event” Jey Uso as he’s trying to take Mami to the waffle house. The outcome of the match saw Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest overcoming this New Judgment Day as this battle is far….far from over.

The only question is when will Rhea’s knight and shining armor Jey Uso intervene himself? Most know that he will be in WWE’s other tremendous storyline….The Bloodline Civil War.

Tiki says: this one was coming…. And it’s finally here! xD I'm not really sure where to start here, because this match was simply “needed” if we take a look back. At Wrestlemania “Dirty” Dom Mysterio made a big decision for the Group of Finn Balor, Damian Priest, JD, Carlito and Rhea Ripley. He turned against his “Mami” and choosed to team up with Liv Morgan. Damian Priest was the only Person that was not in the plans of the “old” Group and also got betrayed later on by Finn Balor. Over the last couple of weeks the Terror Twins used every opportunity to show Liv Morgan and Dom Mysterio that they made a mistake, what they have lost by betraying both and excluding them. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest of course won the match as expected but the feud isn't far from over!

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

Gunther (C) defeated Randy Orton via Submission (34:28)

Chris/Jey says: In the Main Event of this year’s WWE Bash in Berlin saw Gunther defeat Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. I expected a hard hitting and very long match and a long match it was. Both Superstars put in all their efforts as Randy Orton had the chance to win a Championship. This also put to rest the controversial win from Gunther back from King of the Ring. Overall I loved the match itself as Gunther won clean. No interference and no other shenanigans as The Ring General was able to put Randy Orton to sleep. This was a nice way to end the tour in Germany. The question now will be what’s next for Randy Orton once he returns to the Blue Brand.

Tiki says: The Main Event of this Year's WWE Bash in Berlin PLE’s Gunther vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. I really expected a hard hitting and very long match and I wasn't disappointed. Both Superstars gave their all in this match, the cardio of both wrestlers is simply amazing. Randy Orton had the Chance to win a Championship again but Gunther denied it in his “adopted” Home Country of Germany where he has spent the most of his Wrestling Career for the WXW. overall a very good match as expected and a great way to end the Premium Live Event in Germany. A very nice touch at the end of the match was the respect shown between both Superstars.
