The Day The Wrestling World Saw An Invasion

The day the wrestling world saw an Invasion.

So beginning in 2001 VInce McMahon owned WCW and ECW. Well he wanted to do something interesting with those two companies involving his own company so he decided to start the invasion. Invasion took place during the attitude era which is one of the most popular eras in wrestling history. WCW and WWF at the time were at War on Monday nights to see who has the better show well Vince bought WCW because of mismanagement so this leads to the Invasion. The final night of the Monday Night Wars occurred on March 26, 2001: Raw Is War primarily focused on the major storylines heading into WrestleMania X-Seven, while Nitro held their final episode with a "Night of Champions". Mr. McMahon opened up Nitro and announced a simulcast later that night to address the future of WCW. Throughout Raw Is War, McMahon publicly named several WCW wrestlers who would not be retained.[1] Though most would wrestle for the WWE in the ensuing years, he did legitimately fire Jeff Jarrett on television due to animosity between the two dating back in 1999, when Jarrett blackmailed McMahon for payment after he was booked for a match at No Mercy following his contract expiry the day before.[1] so Shane McMahon decided to buy WCW during The Invasion and he is Vince's only son. Stephanie the daughter decided to buy ECW and for wrestling since I don't know these are all rival companies at the time they were competing to see who is best well during The Invasion they decided to have a brand extension adding in these new brands. One of the things they decided to do was have Diamond Dallas Page play a stalker to Undertaker's Real life Wife named Sara at the time. Diamond Dallas Page was a top WCW Wrestler. On the July 9 episode of Raw Is War at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, Kane was scheduled to face Mike Awesome and Lance Storm in a handicap match.Chris Jericho came out and offered to be Kane's partner, thus turning it into a tag team match.Near the end of the match, Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho on Lance Storm. As the move was being applied, however, Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer ran through the audience and into the ring and started to beat on Kane and Jericho. In response, WWF wrestlers consisting of The Dudley Boyz, Tazz, Justin Credible, Rhyno, and Raven (all former ECW wrestlers) ran to the ring. After a brief stand-off, the WWF cavalry turned around and attacked Kane and Jericho. This prompted Paul Heyman to leave the announce table and enter the ring. After high-fiving the wrestlers, he announced that ECW has been brought into the Invasion.[3] Heyman talked about how tired he was sitting beside Jim Ross and discussing WCW vs. WWF, stating that he felt that everyone had forgotten about ECW and announced, "This Invasion just got taken to the extreme!".

Later during the night, Shane and Vince McMahon bumped into each other backstage.Shane told his father that ECW needed to be taken care of and pointed out that there were ten ECW wrestlers under Heyman's belt. He suggested that WWF and WCW field five wrestlers each to take out ECW; Vince agreed, but he stubbornly insisted that WCW would eventually meet its demise when all was said and done.

At the end of the night, the WCW wrestlers came into the ring, accompanied by Shane McMahon. The WWF wrestlers then came into the ring and, before ECW entered, the WCW and WWF wrestlers started to brawl. The WWF wrestlers cleared the ring, but then were stormed by the ECW wrestlers and taken out.The WCW wrestlers came into the ring, high-fived the ECW men and then dismantled the WWF wrestlers as Paul Heyman and Shane McMahon hugged in triumph.Upon seeing a stunned Vince McMahon asking what was going on, Shane admitted being responsible for all the events that just transpired and announced that ECW and WCW merged to form The Alliance – with Stephanie McMahon as ECW's new owner.

All this lead to a PPV called the Invasion which was to see who had the best brand.

At this very moment in wrestling we could have an invasion actually we are but in different ways we have a totally new audience who are not familiar with some of the wrestlers or the companies involved.

The Rise and Fall of Vincent K McMahon

The Rise and Fall of Vincent K. McMahon.

Vincent K. McMahon is a man who was  Chairman of the board of World Wrestling Entertainment but I will explain later why he's no longer the head of WWE. Vince had the business in his hands growing up unlike others who raised the companies from the ground up . He was born the son of Jess McMahon a wrestling promoter. Jess was a wrestling promoter in the 1950s and 1960s in the Northeast mostly. In her biography, wrestler The Fabulous Moolah claimed that Jess McMahon was one of the first promoters to split gate proceeds with his wrestlers. Unlike his son, McMahon believed that the job of a promoter should be kept backstage or behind the scenes and should never interfere with the action in the ring. Though  Jess McMahon appeared in the movie The Wrestler in a cast that was dominated by contemporary wrestlers, he believed that wrestlers should remain wrestlers and not branch off into other forms of media.

Accordingly, he disapproved of Hulk Hogan's appearance in Rocky III in 1982, leading to Hogan's temporary departure from the WWF for Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association. Vince McMahon was a com1mentator for his dad's company and saw that he wanted to get in the business himself so he bought the company in 1982 from his dad. Vince McMahon was a married man with a young family at the time in his 30s and saw the business differently then his dad. When Vince bought the company from his dad he rehired Hogan as his top star and avidly supported wrestlers branching out into other fields, as well as cross-promotions with various musicians, actors, and other personalities outside of wrestling.

If Jess McMahon had known what his son was gonna do with the business he would have never sold it to him. In the 1980s yes there was a huge stars but not like they are today in the business but if Jess McMahon was still around I know the business would be alot different. The younger McMahon's competitive tactics were successful, and the WWF quickly became the most prominent exponent of "sports entertainment".  Jess McMahon would not live to see his company grow from a territorial promotion to what is now a worldwide organization.

Vince McMahon took his dads company and turned into a Million dollar Business. In 2001 during the Monday Night Wars Vince McMahon bought one of the rival companies called World  Championship Wrestling and in 2008 bought another rival Extreme Championship Wrestling buying these 2 companies gave him everything they had including there library which was extensive. These 2 company's helped create wrestlers outside of the McMahon empire.

Vinces Wife Linda and children joined the company behind the scenes and became responsible for some of the best moments within his company. Stephanie Vinces Daughter married into the business. She is married to HHH one of the WWEs top stars of all the time (I will tell his story another time) and Shane her brother works behind the scenes. Linda was a senator from NY actually in the early 2000s so she was doing her own thing.

Vince lead WWE through alot of Controversaries including Sex Scandals, Steroid Use, Deaths that were suspicious and also Controversial in itself. Vince McMahon was on screen unlike his dad and believed in showing his face to the audience.

Yes a lot think he was a good man but some don't. Vince McMahon himself got into trouble in  2022. Following claims of hush-money agreements McMahon paid over alleged affairs with former WWE employees, McMahon stepped down as CEO and chairman of WWE on June 17, 2022, pending the conclusion of an internal investigation and was replaced by his daughter, Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie eventually turned the business over to her husband HHH. On July 22, 2022, McMahon announced his retirement from WWE. Vince will go down in Wrestling History as the man who lead WWE to what it is today. Honestly alot of fans were happy when he left the business.
