4 Pillars Of AEW

The Four Pillars of AEW is a term coined by MJF in an interview, referencing the four young “home grown” stars of AEW poised to be main event stars in the future.

The idea comes from AJPW’s 4 Pillars of Heaven from the 1990s to 2000s being Japanese stars Kenta Kobashi, Mitsuharu Misawa, Toshiaki Kawada, and Akira Taue.

The four men were the top stars in AJPW and some of the greatest wrestlers to ever live.

They carried the company, having incredible match after incredible match against each other in multiple combinations and were recognised as some of the best wrestlers of all time. Each of the four men brought something unique in their character and styles and were seen as the pillars that held up All Japan Pro Wrestling.

In AEW, the Four pillars represents four of the young stars of AEW that have been with the company since AEW was formed. The Four pillars of AEW are four equally distinct yet incredibly talented individuals that look set to be main event stars in the company over the next decade and beyond.

Four Pillars of AEW

Darby Allin

One of the most popular stars in AEW is Darby Allin, and he is one of the 4 pillars of AEW. He was pushed as a future star in AEW from the off, facing off with the likes of Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho very early on his career.

He would later go on to win the TNT Championship from Cody Rhodes and even forming a partnership with WCW legend Sting. As a pair, Darby Allin & Sting are undefeated in tag action and could be on the way to getting a shot at the AEW Tag Team Championships.

Allin is continually placed in main event matches in AEW and looks to be already one of the top stars in the company. In the years to come, should he work on his mic skills to compliment his incredible, death-defying wrestling style, he could become one of the best in the world and an AEW Champion in the future. He has also been to Japan to worked in a Match with Japanese Legend The Great Muta.

Sammy Guevara

The next of the 4 pillars of AEW is three time TNT Champion Sammy Guevara.

Guevara was pushed as a young star early on in AEW, being placed into Chris Jericho’s “Inner Circle” on the first episode of AEW Dynamite, after he had the first match in Dynamite history against Cody Rhodes.

He appeared in many high profile matches alongside the Inner Circle, including the first ever “Blood and Guts” and “Stadium Stampede” matches. He later left the group to focus on singles action, winning the TNT Championship three times with the help of real life girlfriend Tay Conti.

Sammy Guevara is the most successful of the four pillars of AEW, winning three titles so far in his career. He is likely to win even more and has the look of a top heel in the coming years in AEW, once veterans like Chris Jericho retire from the company.

Jungle Boy

The 4 pillar member with the slowest rise, but now one of the most popular, is Jungle Boy. The Jurassic Express member was the first of the 4 pillars of AEW to win the AEW Tag Team Championships. He and partner Luchasaurus defeated the Lucha Brothers in 2021 to win the titles, a goal the pair had since the start of AEW and becoming the first AEW home grown stars to win the belts.

Jungle Boy is the son of the late Hollywood star Luke Perry, but has not allowed his lineage to affect his perception. He has not used his real name to distance himself from his family and has used his hard work and ability to become one of the top faces in the tag team division.

MJF

The fourth and arguable the best of the 4 pillars of AEW is the dastardly Maxwell Jacob Freidman – or MJF. MJF made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2019, and was immediately given the spotlight and a segment in the ring with Adam Page and Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

He soon rose the ranks of AEW, albeit with very limited in-ring time. He was already a top in-ring performer, shown during his time in MLW, but it was on the microphone that MJF really excelled. He played the ultimate heel, continually insulting the crowd yet keeping them hanging on his every word.

He has gone on to wrestle in multiple main event matches against top stars in AEW like Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho and CM Punk. He picked up wins over Punk and Jericho amongst many others, with his feud with CM Punk being one of the best in AEW history. MJF’s promo on his life during the the rivalry gained plaudits from all across the wrestling world and outside of it for it’s incredible honesty and delivery.

MJF is the only one of the four pillars to win the AEW Championship, defeating Jon Moxley for the title at Full Gear 2022.

Guyver Season Two: Episode 23 (Season Finale)

23. The Fight of His Life ( Season Finale)

Rubeo succeeds in escaping Sean and vanishing using his battle form. After Cori’s funeral Sin Rubeo challenges him to duel, threatening to kill everyone Sean loves if he doesn’t accept. Atkins finds out that Rubeo has a device that can merge both of their worlds together if both they’re control metals come in contact. Sean refuses to back out, forcing the team to lock him in. Rubeo confronts The Zeus crew outside of their building and starts destroying everything on site. Merrick and Vash run out to confront the Zoaloard, but are swatted away like flies. Melanie bio morphs into her Zoanoid form, but Rubeo manages to swat her away too. Atkins' daughter releases Sean who bio-boosts and tackles Rubeo to the ground. The two brawl as Merrick and Vash manage to destroy the machine. As Sean and Rubeo continue to brawl Sean manages to defeat him using his Megasmasher to blow his armor away. Sean takes Rubeo control metal and destroys it. With Rubeo defeated, Sean decides to settle down with Mizky. In an alternate timeline a mysterious Guyver is shown killing an alternate version Mizky towards the end of the episode.

Ronin Season Four: Episode 22

 

22. Lost Cause

Kazuya regains control of the Tekken program, as Cye tries to re-hack the program and shut it down. In which he successfully does, resulting in knowing Mia’s whereabouts. Ryo and Kento get hold of this information and infiltrate the company. Once inside the two Ronins are intercepted by Bryan Fury, the King Bros, and a fleet of Jackhammers. The latter attacks Ryo and Kento as the two Ronins armor up and fight back. The two Ronins are at a disadvantage as the numbers game catches up to them. Forest and Xiaoyu rush to Ryo and Kento’s aid giving them a slight advantage. Meanwhile, Sharkbite confronts Sage, Rowen and Cye at CPD. The three Ronins battle the Dynasty Mercenary as he threatens to blow the sewers along with Tekken. Back at Tekken Kento, Ryo and Forest finally take down Bryce and the King Bros while Xiaoyu easily disposes of the Jackhammers. At CPD the three Ronins are overwhelmed when Talpa arrives giving the Ronins assistance. Before Talpa can deliver the final blow the mercenary escapes, but kills Jun Kazama in the process. Ryo, Kento, Mia, Forest, and Xiaoyu all escape before Tekken is shattered. As the episode ends the Ronins regroup as Kazuya arrives in his devil form at the hut.

The Ultimate Warrior

After a career in bodybuilding, Warrior turned to professional wrestling. From 1985 to 1986, he would tag with fellow former bodybuilder Steve Borden aka Sting as the Blade Runners, and split when Warrior left to pursue a singles career in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW). Under the ring name Dingo Warrior, he was a one-time WCWA Texas Heavyweight Champion. In 1987, he joined the World Wrestling Federation, and became a two-time WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion within two years. At WrestleMania VI, Warrior won the WWF Championship in a title vs. title match over Hulk Hogan, making him the first wrestler to hold both titles concurrently. Posited as the new face of the company, he would fall out with Vince McMahon over a pay dispute, and attempted to leave the WWF, which was rejected. Warrior would return at WrestleMania VIII, but by November 1992, he had been released; it was later revealed that this was due to steroid use. In 1993, he legally changed his name to the mononym "Warrior" and was credited as a co-writer for a comic book based on his name and likeness. Warrior returned to the WWF at WrestleMania XII, but lasted four months, as he began no-showing events. Two years later, he joined World Championship Wrestling (who had tried to hire him in 1995), being used in a much-maligned storyline with Hogan, which culminated at Halloween Havoc. Warrior retired from professional wrestling and subsequently embarked on a public speaking career, but wrestled one final match in Spain in 2008.

Warrior died on April 8, 2014, at the age of 54 in Scottsdale, Arizona. On the preceding three nights in New Orleans, he had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, appeared at WrestleMania XXX and made his final public appearance on Monday Night Raw, returning to the promotion after an acrimonious separation in 1996.

During his April 2014 Hall of Fame speech shortly before his death, Warrior proposed that the "Jimmy Miranda Award" should be created to honour WWE's behind-the-scenes employees. Miranda, who died in 2002, was part of the WWE merchandise department for more than 20 years.

In 2015, WWE introduced the Warrior Award for those who have "exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of the Ultimate Warrior.

Guyver Season Two: Episode 22

 

22. Unstoppable

As the armored Zoanoid army begins terrorizing the city, the team is spread out throughout the city to de-armor and neutralized Rubeo’s army. As the team returns to Zeus, Sean starts displaying confidence, but his confidence might be his undoing as all of his teammates tell him to be more cautious. Rubeo uses Mizky as bait as three Chronos Agents corner her at work and attempt to capture her. The team searches for her throughout the city as she is taken to Rubeo’s hideout. Along the way Sean encounters a Mizky lookalike. Meanwhile Vash, Merrick, and Melanie encounter three Chronos Agents at the mall. The three easily dispatch the soldiers. A shootout occurs as Chronos Agents show up as the trio hold them off. Sean and Mizky look alike then battle as the Zoanoid reveals it’s true form. The fight comes to an end Sean defeats Gobliva using a pressure cannon and is able to blow it’s armor away. Back Zeus the team is able to use it’s antidote curing Rubeo’s entire army. During a celebration dinner Rubeo kidnaps Cori and forces Sean to watch as he kills her right in front of him.

Hardcore Legends Never Die

 

What is Hardcore!?!? Hardcore is a form of Wrestling involving Foreign Objects like Chairs,Tables Dumbsters,Fire Etc. In my opinion .Hard-core is a term meaning No Rules but there is other matches like Extreme Rules Matches,Death Matches,Hell in a Cell just to name a few matches under Hardcore. The man who I consider one of the Kings under this category of Wrestling is Terry Funk! He is an inspiration to younger talent including Tazz,Raven, Mick Foley,Sandman just to name a few. 

Terry Funk didn't become a Hardcore Wrestler till 1994 in his Career. In 1994, after a special appearance against Tully Blanchard at Slamboree 1994, Funk promised to help the fledgling Eastern Championship Wrestling (later renamed Extreme Championship Wrestling or ECW) by lending his talent and notoriety to the promotion, which had just split from the NWA. Funk maintained a regular schedule of wrestling for ECW in its early days while also competing in Japan. He had many feuds and wrestled programs with wrestlers such as Cactus Jack, "The Franchise" Shane Douglas, The Sandman, Sabu, and Terry's own protege, Tommy Dreamer.

On August 20, 1995, IWA Japan held a King of the Death Match tournament in Kawasaki, Japan. In this tournament, Funk endured three extreme-style matches involving ladders, thumbtacks, and barbed wire. In the final match of the tournament, he lost to Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack), in an exploding ring, C4 explosive, barbed wire match.

Funk further elevated ECW by headlining their first pay-per-view, Barely Legal on April 13, 1997, winning the ECW Championship from Raven. Earlier in the night, he defeated The Sandman and Stevie Richards in a Triple Threat match, thus earning him the match with Raven. He was later defeated for the title by Sabu in a barbed wire match at Born to Be Wired, in which the ropes of the ring were taken down and replaced with barbed wire. Both men had to be cut out of the wires at the end of the match. Sabu had his biceps visibly torn open by the barbed wire - as a result, the wound was taped up and the match continued. In September of that same year, a show was held in Funk's hometown of Amarillo. It was called "WrestleFest - 50 Years of Funk" and was both his own show and a celebration of the careers of Terry, his father, and his brother. Terry lost to then WWF Champion Bret Hart in the main event. However, before the match, ECW owner Paul Heyman presented Terry with a belt, paid for through a collection taken up by wrestlers on the ECW roster, that declared him the Lifetime ECW World Heavyweight Champion. Funk's retirement lasted just three months before he started taking independent bookings again. Soon after, he was signed by the WWF and debuted as Chainsaw Charlie. Funk had a match with Foley on Raw, and the New Age Outlaws came and threw both in a dumpster, and pushed them off of the stage. This led to a match between The Outlaws and Funk/Foley at WrestleMania XIV, for the WWF Tag Team Championship in a Dumpster match when Funk/Foley beat the New Age Outlaws. The title was held up and put on the line in a Steel Cage match the next night on Raw due to a technicality: the wrong dumpsters had been used in the match. The Outlaws regained the title. He then had a Falls Count Anywhere match with Foley on Raw in 1998, where Foley defeated him.

Terry Funk was Inducted Into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009. Fun Fact: Terry Funk isn't from Texas originally he was born in Indiana.
