Lance Storm, born April 3, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, is a renowned professional wrestler celebrated for his technical prowess and significant contributions to the wrestling industry. Trained at the Hart Brothers Wrestling Camp in Calgary, Alberta, Storm’s career spans multiple major wrestling promotions, including ECW, WCW, WWE, and Impact Wrestling.
Early Career and Training
Storm’s wrestling journey began in 1990 after training under Ed Langley and Brad Young at the Hart Brothers Wrestling Camp, where he formed a lasting friendship with fellow trainee Chris Jericho. The two debuted against each other in 1990, marking the start of Storm’s professional career. He initially wrestled in Calgary and later expanded to Japan, competing for Wrestling Association “R” (WAR). In 1994, Storm and Jericho teamed up as “The Thrillseekers” in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, gaining attention for their dynamic performances.
Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW)
In 1997, Storm joined Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), where he achieved notable success. He formed the tag team “The Impact Players” with Justin Credible, and together they secured the ECW World Tag Team Championship twice. Storm’s tenure in ECW solidified his reputation as a skilled and reliable performer.
World Championship Wrestling (WCW)
Storm transitioned to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 2000, where he experienced a remarkable ascent. Demonstrating his versatility, he captured the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, WCW Cruiserweight Championship, and WCW Hardcore Championship in rapid succession. Embracing his Canadian heritage, Storm humorously renamed these titles to reflect Canadian themes, such as the “Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title.”
World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/WWE)
Following WCW’s acquisition by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 2001, Storm became part of the WWF roster. He was portrayed as a serious, no-nonsense heel and was a member of “The Alliance” during the Invasion storyline. Storm was the first WCW wrestler to “invade” a WWF program, debuting on the May 28, 2001, episode of “Raw.” During this period, he won the Intercontinental Championship and formed notable tag teams, including “The Un-Americans” with Christian, Test, and William Regal, capturing the World Tag Team Championship.
Later Career and Contributions

He established the Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, which operated from 2005 until 2019, earning a reputation for producing technically proficient talent. In February 2022, he returned to Impact Wrestling as a producer, continuing to influence the industry behind the scenes.
